Q.What is a Debit MasterCard®?
A.

It is an improved ATM card that not only can be used to perform any ATM transactions (cash withdrawals, deposits, transfers, etc.,), but it can also be used as a debit card. Your State Bank Debit MasterCard® is a convenient way to access your checking account without writing checks. Instead of writing a check, use your State Bank Debit MasterCard® and your purchases will automatically be paid from your State Bank checking account. Simply keep your receipts and record your transactions in your checkbook just like you would a check.

Q.How do I activate my new State Bank Debit MasterCard®?
A.

Activating your new Card is easy. Simply use your new Card with your Personal Identification Number (PIN), to perform any transaction (including balance inquiries and withdrawals) at any State Bank ATM machine. Or, if you prefer, you can activate your card by calling our customer service center at 1-888-892-3806.

Once your card is activated, you can make purchases with your Debit MasterCard® at millions of locations worldwide and withdraw cash 24 hours a day at thousands of ATM's displaying the NYCE®, Cirrus® or MasterCard® logos*.

Q.Can I activate my card by making a purchase at a store?
A.

No. As outlined above, your Card has to be activated by calling our customer service center at 1-888-892-3806, or by completing any transaction at any State Bank ATM machine using your Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Q.How will I keep track of transactions made with my State Bank Debit MasterCard®?
A.

Your regular monthly bank statement will list all transactions made with your debit card including cash withdrawals and purchases. For each transaction, your statement will show the date of the transaction, the amount and the location.

Q.Do I simply present my Card to the merchant when I'm making a purchase?
A.

Yes. In most cases the merchant will ask you "debit or credit" at the point of transaction. When you are given the choice, say "credit" or push the credit button so you will have the opportunity to sign the receipt and avoid potential transaction fees. Doing this basically selects a transaction- processing mode and does NOT generate a credit card transaction. Use your PIN only at ATM machines*.

Q.Are there any transaction limits with my Debit MasterCard®?
A.

You may withdraw cash up to your available balance, subject to our daily limit of $400.00. The transaction limit at retail merchants is $1,000.00 per day, for a total of $1,400.00 per day.

Q.What if my Debit MasterCard® is lost/stolen?
A.

To report a lost/stolen ATM or Debit Card please call 1-800-528-2273.
