Special Alert for Our Customers
To protect your account against fraudulent activity, please review your online bank statement on a daily basis. In particular, pay close attention to the checks you have written as they post to your account. There are many schemes that attempt to alter checks whereby the original payee name is carefully removed and replaced with another name. The altered item is usually deposited into a fraudulent account in an out of state bank. You, the issuer of the check, have the only direct knowledge as to who is the true payee. In reviewing your statement, if you detect an altered check please immediately notify us so that we may take the appropriate action in a timely manner. We thank you for your cooperation.
Phishing Scam Alert
Internet phishing is the criminal practice of sending seemingly legitimate e-mails instructing you to click on a link in the message that connects you to a "spoofed" website of a company or financial institution you may have dealings with. These fraudulent websites are deceptive because they cleverly simulate official looking logos or financial symbols. At the fraudulent website, you will be asked to submit personal information such as your account numbers, passwords or PINs. This information can then be used to commit a variety of crimes from draining your accounts to obtaining credit cards in your name.
